The real custom build doesn't start until fall, so this week I figured, let me throw something quick together so the car's drivable enough for coffee runs and Harbor Freight trips. Not too far. Just in case she dies on me.

Four cans of matte grill paint later, the leopard look is gone. Came out more consistent than I expected. Matte hides small sins. Big ones are still there but paint wasn't going to fix those anyway. For the interior I had '06GT shell sitting in the backyard. Pulled the motor and trans out of it a while back for my '68 fastback build, but the seats were new and still in there doing nothing. Yanked them out Saturday, ground the seat frames down a bit with the angle grinder, and they bolted in clean. Rears went in like they were made for it, except the seatback. Just laid that flat. Max Max Beetle, it works.

Steering wheel was a momo racing with quick release that's been on my couch since I restored the '68 fastback before cutting it apart again. Ordered the adapter, waited a couple days, put it on Sunday. Was worried it'd stick out like a flagpole, turned out closer to the dash than I thought. Whole interior went from one seat and some cardboard to full leather in a weekend.

Front end is next. Stretching the fenders a bit, cutting a section out of the hood for a center intake (gonna have to weld a patch inside the trunk after), and there's a big lip splitter coming. Will look properly monstrous when it's done. 40hp racing front end. BBS LMs from my Porsche shelf are sitting there looking at me but they'd need wider fenders and I'm not sure I want to go that deep on this car. She's supposed to be the fun one.
